SUMMARY:Builder Breakfast Meeting ''Electrical Safety'': CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:CL&P and CONN-OSHA team up to discuss electrical safety\, from overhead power lines to portable power tools and temporary power. Although many professionals feel familiar with electricity\, it never hurts to re-focus on the potential dangers and OSHA violations\, and how to avoid them. \n\nCL&P will discuss what contractors need to know when work involves working adjacent to power lines\, both primaries and secondaries\, including service drops. Such types of work can include but is not limited to painting\, siding\, installing or maintaining gutters\, cutting trees\, etc.\, and when you should contact CL&P\, who to call and when. \n\nCONN-OSHA will address specific “low hanging fruit” issues to be aware of that can cause serious injury and expose employers to potential OSHA citations. Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI)\, extension cords\, use of junction boxes\, covers\, exposed live parts\, Lockout/Tagout\, use of wet saws\, heaters and waterproof plugs are examples of subjects to be covered.
